Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa is the third Chancellor of the University. He was appointed by the Visitor, the President and Commander – in – Chief, Federal Republic of Nigeria in June 2009.
Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Idrissa is the 43rd Emir of Fika and the second Chairman, Yobe State Council of Chiefs. He is a product of the famous Barewa College Zaria, Kaduna State, Northern Nigeria after which he left for the United Kingdom for his tertiary education. He obtained a Master’s Degree from the City University of London.
Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Idrissa is an Intelligence guru of national & international repute, who served in the State Security Service, the Nigerian Railway Corporation and the French Oil giant, TOTAL from where he left to respond to the call to traditional institution following the demise of his father.
At the instance of the kingmakers of one of the frontline emirates in Northern Nigeria (Fika Emirate), he was selected and in conjunction with Yobe State Government, appointed the 43rd Emir of Fika on March 16, 2009.
A recipient of the national award of the Commander of the Order of the Niger, (CON), Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Idrissa is a holder of the Honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Lits) degree of the University of Uyo.
