Programmes Offered With Admission Requirements
(a)  Bachelor of Science Education Degree
(4year and 3year programs exist)  
1. B. Sc. (Ed) Biology,
2. B. Sc. (Ed) Chemistry,
3. B. Sc. (Ed) Integrated Science,
4. B. Sc. (Ed) Mathematics,
5. B. Sc. (Ed) Physics.

A candidate seeking admission into any of the B. Sc. Education programs of the department must have a credit pass in English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or equivalent.

Admission into the degree program of the department is through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for both the UTME (i.e. 4 year program) and the Direct Entry (DE) (i.e. 3 year program) candidates. In addition, there is a follow up screening/aptitude test for candidates who make a pre determined fixed score in the UTME as a prerequisite for undergraduate admission. A Direct Entry candidate must in addition to possessing the required five credits at WASSCE, hold a National Certificate of Education from a recognized institution.

(b)  Master Degree

Admission Requirements:            

• Candidates for admission into the programme shall normally be holders of Master’s Degree in Science Education of the University of Uyo or any other University recognised by senate.
• Candidates must show evidence that they meet the matriculation requirements of the department of Science Education.
• Candidates must have at least a cumulative Average score of 60%(B) or a CGPA of 3.50(on a five point scale) at the master’s level.
• Candidates must present evidence that they are allowed by their establishments to pursue the programme on full time basis.
• Candidates should submit a two-page proposal to the Department.

In addition, a candidate will undergo a screening exercise in the department of Science Education.

(c) Doctorate Degree
