BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF DIRECTORATE OF COUNCIL AFFAIRS

The Directorate of Council Affairs is one of the Directorates in the Registry and works very closely with the Office of the Registrar

FUNCTIONS OF THE DIRECTORATE:

The Directorate of Council Affairs serves as the Secretariat of the University Governing Council, providing secretarial, administrative and welfare services to Council.  The Directorate also provides secretarial services to most Committees of Council such as the Capital Projects and Services Committee, Tenders Board, the Finance and General Purposes Committee, Joint Committee of Council and Senate on Senior Staff Discipline, etc.  It serves as a Secretariat for Tender processes and registers and maintains records of Consultants, Contractors and Suppliers to the University.  The Directorate also handles processing of contract procurement and keeps records of contract awards.  It liaises with the University Legal Adviser on legal matters affecting the University.
