B.A (Hons) Philosophy (Full Time)
Admissions shall be offered to UTME and Direct Entry candidates for the duration of 4 and 3 years respectively.

UTME Requirements
In order to be admitted to read Philosophy for a four (4) year programme, candidates must satisfy the general Faculty of Arts requirements.  In addition, candidates must possess a pass in Mathematics or any other Science subject at the GCE, SSCE, or NECO or their equivalent.
The UTME cut-off mark for admission varies from year to year. The qualified candidates are expected to undergo the University Screening exercise as may be determined by the Senate of the University.
Direct Entry Requirement
Direct Entry candidates shall be required to have passed the Advanced Level General Certificate of Education (Advanced G.C.E.). Candidates with National Diploma (N.D) and NCE in cognate disciplines may be considered for admission.

PART TIME PROGRAMME
Admission Requirements
In order to be admitted to read Philosophy, candidates must satisfy the general Faculty of Arts requirement. In addition, candidates for Philosophy must possess five (5) credits in at least two (2) sittings which should include English Language and at least a pass in Mathematics or any other science subject at the Senior School Certificate Level moderated by NECO or WAEC.

MASTER’S DEGREE M.A.
Admission Requirements:
To be admitted into the M. A. Programme in Philosophy, candidates shall normally be:
(a)        Graduates of Philosophy with at least a minimum of Second Class Lower from institutions of  recognized by the Senate of the University of Uyo. 
(b)        Applicants with combined Honours degree and degrees in disciplines other than Philosophy shall be considered on their own merit.
(c)        All candidates must have five credit passes including English and a pass in Mathematics or any other science subject at the O’ Level as basic requirement.
