Area of specialization/Research Interest
TEXTILE  DESIGN/has interest in researching into easier methods of fabric surface decoration and innovation of textile printing machines. He also has interest in manufacturing rat and cockroach-free upholstery, special gift items and sourcing for rare found objects, all with strong African craft content.

PROGRAMMES OFFERED WITH ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
[A] CERTIFICATE IN FINE AND INDUSTRIAL ARTS
1. A minimum of 3 credits or equivalents with at least a pass in English Language at the SSCE/GCE TC11 Examinations OR
[2]2 credits or equivalents, with a pass in English Language at SSCE/GCE/TC11, plus practical Art experience.
[3]A minimum of 5 credits. Those who aspire to continue in the above shall be subjected to Departmental interview. Students who are aspiring to continue in the degree programme must finally have five [5] credits [including English language] with this course substituting for lack of credit in school certificate Fine Arts.
[b]DIPLOMA IN FINE AND INDUSTRIAL ARTS
[1]Candidates seeking admission into the diploma programme should possess a minimum of five[5] credit passes in any subjects including English Language at the SSCE/GCE/TC11.NECO,NABTEB or equivalent at not more than two sittings. They must have a flair for arts in addition to satisfying the Departmental screening test requirement in General Drawing.
[2]Candidates wishing to proceed to Degree programme on completion of the Diploma course must have the minimum requirement of five[5] credit passes including English Language in addition to obtaining JAMB Direct Entry Requirements.
[c] BACHELOR OF ART IN FINE AND INDUSTRIAL ARTS [with specializations in PAINTING,SCULPTURE, TEXTILES,CERAMICS and GRAPHICS].
[A] 4 Year Programme:
Minimum of five [5] credits at the SSCE in one or two sittings. This applies also to GCE’O’ Level holders. The credits must include English Language.
[B]3 Year Direct Entry Programme
[1]’A’ Level GCE papers including Fine Art plus 3 ‘O’ Level credits including English Language.
[2]National Diploma In Fine Art[higher credit]plus 3 ‘O’Level credits including English Language.
[3]N.C.E. in Fine Arts plus at least 3 ‘O’ Level credits including English Language.
[4]Other equivalent qualifications may be accepted.
[d] MASTER OF ART IN ART [M.F.A.]
[1]The same as University Of Uyo general requirement.  A minimum of Second Class Lower Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from a recognized University or B.A. Ed. Degree which is art-biased.
[e]MASTER OF ART IN ART EDUCATION [M.A. ART ED]
Regular admission requirements for the Master of Art in Art Education [M.A. Art Ed] degree programme include a good bachelor of Art degree in Art Education or B.A. Fine Arts from any recognized University not below 2nd Class Lower.
Other requirements are:
1. A good bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology.
2. Higher National Diploma-HND in Fine Arts with PGDE.
3. A satisfactory review of candidate’s art/creative works-photographs or slides.
4. A successful interview of the candidate by the Art Education Unit in addition to other general postgraduate school requirements.
[f] DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN FINE AND INDUSTRIAL ARTS [Ph.D Fine and Industrial arts]
[1]Candidates for admission into the Ph.D   programme in Fine and Industrial Arts must fulfill the following:
1. Hold a recognized Masters degree, M.F.A., M.A. or equivalent, not having below the grade of B [60%]
2. Show evidence of maturity and ability to undertake independent and significant research work in the field of art and design.
3. The candidate shall be required to submit a written statement of intent, reflecting an area of interest.
4. The candidate should go through other requirements of the University of Uyo.
5. Submit in person a representative portfolio of their recent works to the Head of Department of Fine and Industrial Arts, University of Uyo, at the time they are returning their application forms to the Postgraduate School for final screening by the department’s postgraduate board.
