(A) The Health Centre of University of Uyo caters for the Health needs of members of University Community (staff and 4 dependants and students) as well as non members of the University.
The Director of Health Services is in charge of the health centre. There are 3 Deputy Directors, each of them heading a unit as follow – Public Health, Clinical and Administrative Units. The Health Centre runs a 24hours service.

FUNCTIONS OF THE UNIT
- To take initially, the vital signs of the patients at the Out Patient Department (O.P.D.), emergency cases send to casualty or directly to ward.
- Assisting doctors during operations.
- Takes care of anti-natal patients till delivery.
- Takes care of patients in need of family planning, treats tuberculosis patients
- HIV Counselling and Testing.
