Brief Introduction of Postgraduate School
Postgraduate training at the University of Uyo aims at providing systematic academic and research programmes geared toward shaping the perception, thinking, moral, physical and emotional demeanour and sensitivities of the student. It accomplishes these through emphasis on research orientation which encourages originality of thought, venturesomenesss, ability to break barriers of mental inhibitions and the extension of the frontiers and horizon of knowledge . Moreover a large part of our research efforts at this time, beginning with the Master’s degree but particularly at the Doctoral level, must be development-oriented. Our postgraduate students with their supervisors and advisers are requested to see themselves as catalysts in the mission to reverse the cycle of backwardness that afflicts the conditions of life in their communities. The goal of academic excellence which we wish our university to attain must be seen to show forth after the undergraduate stages in acknowledged products of research efforts.
The Postgraduate School has a resource centre equipped with twelve (12) computer systems and provided with internet facilities. Presently, an over one hundred million naira ETF-sponsored storey building is being constructed at the main campus and the hope is that it will be ready for occupation in no distant time.
