PROGRAMMES OFFERED WITH ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

PRE-DEGREE: AGRICULTURE (FISHERIES) (Full time)

Admission Requirements: Candidates with five credit passes at SSCE/WASC/GCE ‘O’ Level in five subjects, including the following at not more than two sittings; Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and one of Geography, Economics, Health Science or Home Management and a credit pass in English Language and a score of note less than 160 in universal tertiary matriculation examination (UTME).

CERTIFICATE IN: Fisheries and Aquaculture (Part time); being developed

Admission Requirements: Candidates with passes at SSCE/WASC/GCE’O’ Level in five subjects including the following at not more than two seating: Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and one of Geography, Economics, Health Science or Home Management and a pass in English Language.

DIPLOMA IN: Fisheries and Aquaculture (Part time); being developed

Admission Requirements: Candidates with credit passes at SSCE/WASC/GCE’O’ Level in five subjects including the following at not more than two seating: Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and one of Geography, Economics, Health Science or Home Management and a credit pass in English Language.
(d)      BACHELOR OF FISHERIES, B. Fisheries, IN: Fisheries and Aquaculture  (Full time)
                 Admission Requirements:  Candidates with five credit passes at SSCE/WASC/GCE ‘O’ Level in five subjects, including the following at not more than two sittings; Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and one of Geography, Economics, Health Science or Home Management and a credit pass in English Language.
                 (e)       MASTER OF SCIENCE, M.Sc. (Full time) IN:  i.  Fisheries and Aquaculture, OR
ii.  Aquatic Environmental Management
             Admission Requirements: Admission into the M.Sc. Programme is open to candidates with at least a Bachelor’s Degree (Second Class Lower Point Classification) in a relevant field from a University recognized by UNIVERSITY OF UYO senate. Such candidates must have obtained their B.Sc. in relevant disciplines including Fisheries, Aquaculture, Hydrobiology, Zoology, Biology, Environmental Management, etc.
  (f)      POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD) (Full time)  IN:  i.  Aquaculture,   ii.   Fisheries, OR
iii. Aquatic Environmental Management

Admission Requirements: Candidates must possess a first degree in a relevant field or a Higher National Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture or related sciences, such as Zoology, Biology, Animal Science, etc.
(g)     Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) (Full time) IN:  i. Fisheries and Aquaculture, OR
ii.        Aquatic  Environmental Management
Admission Requirements: Admission into the Ph.D. Programme is open to candidates with a good Masters Degree (Average score, 60% - B) or M. Phil. in a relevant field from a University recognized by UNIVERSITY OF UYO senate. Such graduates must have obtained their Masters degrees in relevant disciplines like Aquaculture, Hydrobiology, Zoology, Biology, Fisheries Management, Oceanography, Environmental Sciences, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) etc.
